URBAN WHITSON

PERRYVILLE -- Urban Whitson, 71, of St. Louis, died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 1994, at Landsdowne Manor in St. Louis.

He was born Sept. 29, 1922, at Minith, son of Elmer and Birdie L. Robinson Whitson. He and Stella M. McClure were married Sept. 20, 1948, at Jackson.

Whitson was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in St. Louis. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and participated in the invasion at Normandy.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert Whitson of St. Louis; two daughters, Judy West of St. Louis, Evelyn Brown of Pacific; a sister, Mildred Whitson of Chicago, and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Friends may call at Miller Family Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today, and from 6:30-9 a.m. Friday.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Saline Baptist Church in Minith, with the Rev. E.D. Francis officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
