Butch Nussbaum
CHAFFEE -- Truman "Butch" Nussbaum, 56, of Chaffee died Monday, Aug. 9, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 6, 1943, at Crump, son of Leo and Frieda Maag Nussbaum. He and Evelyn Stoffregen were married May 26, 1962, at Gordonville.
Nussbaum farmed on the family farm near Crump and also north of Whitewater. He worked at West Lake Quarry in Scott City 18 years, and had owned and operated Butch's Backhoe and Trenching Service since 1992.
He attended St. Paul Lutheran Church at Chaffee. He was a charter member and former fire chief of Whitewater Fire Department, and member of Teamsters Local 574. He was currently president of SEMO Red Rocker Square Dance Club, and president of State of Missouri Federation of Square and Round Dance Club.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, T.L. Nussbaum of Whitewater, Larry Nussbaum of Leopold; two brothers, Rudy Nussbaum of Whitewater and Robert Nussbaum of Jackson.
Also surviving are eight sisters, Dorothy Latko of St. Louis, Gladys Kraemer of St. Charles, Viola Sadler of Whitewater, Fay Amelunke, Joan Burns and Vanna Hoyt of Jackson, Colleen Weisenborn of Friedheim, Lora Henk of Marble Hill; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today, and Wednesday after 9 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Gordonville.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Church, with the Rev. Wayne Schwiesow officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson.
