Truman Edward Dodd Jr., 65, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, at Woodland Manor Nursing Home in Arnold, Mo. He was born Aug. 14, 1944, in Cape Girardeau, son of Truman and Ruby Pearl Stout Dodd Sr. He and Judy McCormick were married Oct. 25, 2005, at Marble Hill, Mo. She died Sept. 30, 2008...

Truman Edward Dodd Jr., 65, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, at Woodland Manor Nursing Home in Arnold, Mo.

He was born Aug. 14, 1944, in Cape Girardeau, son of Truman and Ruby Pearl Stout Dodd Sr. He and Judy McCormick were married Oct. 25, 2005, at Marble Hill, Mo. She died Sept. 30, 2008.

Truman proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

He was a taxi driver many years with Nip Kelley Transportation. He was a member of Elks Lodge 639 in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include three daughters, Jinie (Gary) Pyatt and Eileen (Charles) Brodell of Imperial, Mo., April (Jeff) Maulding of Festus, Mo.; a sister, Rita Estep of St. Clair, Mo.; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a son, Rodney Lee Dodd; and a number of brothers and sisters.

His children are grateful for his nurturing and loving spirit and will miss him.

Friends may call from noon to service time Sunday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by Missouri Honors Team.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Society.
