Tressa Marchildon, 87, died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000, at Jerseyville Community Hospital. She had been residing at Greenwood Manor West Nursing Home.
Born May 7, 1913, in Thebes, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Deward and Maggie Clutts Butcher.
She married Frank J. Marchildon July 4, 1935, in Cairo, Ill. He died in 1994. Tressa and Frank owned and operated Marchildon General Store in McClure, Ill., for more than 52 years. She retired in 1987.
Surviving are one daughter, Joan Klockenkemper and her husband, Paul, of Godfrey, Ill.; two grandchildren, Thomas Klockenkemper and Kathy Morrissey; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Naomi Williams of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and many nieces and nephews.
A brother, John, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Funeral Home, 1001 N. Mount Auburn Road, Cape Girardeau.
A funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 741 Forest, Cape Girardeau.
The Rev. Milton Ryan will officiate, with burial in Lindsey Cemetery in McClure.
