ADVANCE, Mo. -- Trella V. Shirrell, 90, of Advance passed away Monday, July 2, 2007, at her home.
She was born Nov. 25, 1916, in Wayne County, Mo., daughter of Jame Garfield and Leada Trafford Stephens. She and Orville Lee "Jack" Shirrell were united in marriage in January 1932 at Zalma, Mo. He preceded her in death Dec. 16, 1991.
Trella retired from Ward Store in Advance, where she had been a retail clerk. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Advance.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Shirrell of Leopold, Mo., Steve Shirrell of Advance; seven daughters, LaVonda West of Cape Girardeau, Jean Gaither and Carolyn Dunning of Advance, Dianna Daugherty of Marble Hill, Mo., Debby Reisenbichler of Sturdivant, Mo., Teresa Carlton of Advance and Mae McLean of Marble Hill.
Also a brother, Claude Stephens of Advance; a sister, Opha Young of St. Louis; 24 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Bob Shirrell; a grandson; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Brad Moore officiating. Burial will be in Brush Creek Cemetery near Zalma.
