Tonya Sue Ross, 59, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015, at Southeast Hospital.
She was born Aug. 25, 1956, in Cape Girardeau to Aaron Obed and Freeda Loudean Fulkerson Smothers.
She and Doug Ross were married June 28, 1975, in Cape Girardeau.
Tonya was a 1974 Central High School graduate. She worked as an L.P.N. through 1986.
She and her husband owned and operated Plaza Laundry and Dry Cleaning until 2001.
She was a member of Bethel Assembly of God and Cape Rock #60 Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include her mother, Freeda Smothers of Cape Girardeau; husband, Doug Ross of Cape Girardeau; son, Jason Ross of McClure, Illinois; daughter, Jennifer (Adam) Stevens of Cape Girardeau; brother, Harlan (Doris) Smothers of Gordonville; and five grandchildren, Rileigh and Reese Stevens and Colton, Hunter and Dakoda Ross.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Pastor Phil Roop officiating.
Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family to help with funeral expenses.
