EAST PRAIRIE -- Tony Darrell Ellis of Hueytown, Ala., formerly of East Prairie, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, near Hueytown, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was 28.
Services were held Saturday at the Shelby Funeral Chapel in East Prairie, and burial followed in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery near East Prairie.
Ellis was born April 7, 1962, in East Prairie to Bill and Jeanie Sterling Ellis.
He was employed by the Bessemer Curb Market in Bessemer, Ala, and had lived in Hueytown for the past three years.
Survivors include his parents, two sons, Tony and Kurt Ellis of Dexter; two daughters, Amanda and Melissa Ellis of Dexter; one brother, Billy W. Ellis of Metropolis, Ill.; two sisters, Betty Myers of Metropolis, Ill., and Sue Balfantz of Baton Rouge, La.; maternal grandfather, Jack Sterling of East Prairie, Paternal grandfather, Glen W. Ellis of Senath, and his former wife, Angie Ellis of Dexter.
He was proceeded in death by one sister, Pamela Ann Ellis and his grandmothers, Katie Sterling and Mary Ellen Ellis.
