CAIRO, Ill. -- Tom A. Morrow, 81, of Jackson, Miss., died at 10 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Jackson.
He was born Oct. 21, 1921, in Eupora, Miss., son of James and Maudie Bridges Morrow.
Tom served in the U.S. Army 26 years. He was a veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam, and received a Purple Heart.
He was a member of the 503rd Airborne Division, VFW, and American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Marguarite Morrow of Jackson; and locally a stepgranddaughter, Debbie Willis of Miller City, Ill.; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marguarite Morrow in 1989; a stepson, George Dewey Owens in 2002, and a brother, James Morrow.
Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday.
Graveside service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Mound City National Cemetery, with Dr. Larry L. Potts officiating. Military honors will be provided by Pulaski County VFW Post 8891 at Mounds, Ill.
