ORAN, Mo. -- Tom R. Dirnberger, 53, of Oran died Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011, at the family home.
He was born Oct. 19, 1957, in Cape Girardeau, son of Robert Frank and Viola Marie Dannenmueller Dirnberger. He married Debbie Welter Oct. 21, 1978.
Tom has been Scott County recorder since 1995 in Benton, Mo. He was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran, St. Joseph Sodality, Scott City Knights of Columbus Council 6420, Oran Jaycees, two consecutive years as past president of Recorders Association of Missouri, member of Guardian Angel Parish Council, Sikeston Eagles Aerie 4206 and president of Oran Industrial Park Committee. He held various positions on the Missouri Association of Counties.
Survivors include his mother, Viola Dirnberger of Oran; wife, Debbie Dirnberger of the home; a son, Lucas Dirnberger; a daughter, Lauren Dirnberger, both of Oran; two brothers, Kenneth (Akiko) Dirnberger of Chicago, Butch (Cathy) Dirnberger of Oran; a sister, Brenda Bollinger of St. Louis; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Sunday at Guardian Angel Catholic School gymnasium in Oran. The rosary will be at 2 p.m., followed by Knights of Columbus prayer service at 2:15.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Guardian Angel Church, with the Rev. John Harth as celebrant and the Rev. Randy Tochtrop as concelebrant. Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
