Richard Todd Reed, 56, of Jackson died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 23, 1954, in Cape Girardeau, to Robert D. and Betty J. Asbridge Reed. He and Leora Ward were married Aug. 8, 2010, in Cape Girardeau.

Todd was a graduate of Central High School. He was both a supervisor and fork lift operator at LeeRowan in Jackson. Prior to that he had worked at Ramsey Plumbing.

Todd loved riding his bike and fishing with his dad, and was a very talented artist. He was formerly a member of a local Christian bikers group and Cape Artist Guild. He was a member of the Church of God in Chaffee.

Survivors include his wife, Leora Reed of Jackson; parents, Robert and Betty Reed of Dutchtown; a son, Stephen Reed of Jackson; a stepson, Chris Ward of Benton, Mo.; a brother, Mike (Pat) Reed of Jackson; a sister, Kim (Kenny) Dohogne of Delta; two grandchildren, Allie and Zach.

Friends may call from 8:30 a.m. to service time Saturday at the Church of God in Chaffee.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, with Bishop Tom Morris officiating. The Rev. Darren Henderson will assist. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to American Liver Foundation, 39 Broadway, Suite 2700, New York, NY 10006, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
