Todd Michael Metje, 52, of Jackson died Monday, Feb. 29, 2016, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 13, 1963, in Cape Girardeau to Gary and Clodine Wachter Metje.

Todd was a 1982 graduate of Central High School. He served in the Navy from 1985 to 1989.

He was a truck driver with G&M Trailers Inc.

Todd was a big sports fan, especially of the Cardinals, Mizzou and the Blues. He participated in leagues in Cape Girardeau in bowling and APA Pool.

He loved gardening and liked to brag about his flowers.

He was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ.

Survivors include his parents, Gary and Clodine Metje of Cape Girardeau; son Joshua Metje of Independence, Missouri; brothers Randy (Kim) Metje of Staunton, Virginia, and Kirk Metje of Cape Girardeau; girlfriend Theresa Mulliger of Jackson; nieces and nephews Brad Metje of Virginia, Keri Billig of North Carolina and Katelyn Ivie and Kris Metje of Cape Girardeau; and six great-nieces and great-nephews.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with pastor Dan Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to a charity of your choice.
