Wayne Tindle Oliver, 62, known as Tindle to his family and friends, passed away Friday, Dec. 2, 2022, in Jackson.

Tindle was born June 30, 1960, son of William L. and Gertrude Carter Oliver Jr.

Tindle graduated from the University of Arkansas, followed by earning a Master of Business Administration from the University of Memphis. During his career, he worked as a police officer, but spent most of his career working in health care finance.

Tindle was a generous soul who enjoyed the opportunity to serve and give to others. He loved cooking extravagant meals for his family and friends. He had a great appreciation for music and played several instruments, including the guitar and drums. He was quick with a joke and had a great sense of humor.

Fond family memories of Tindle include the adoptions of his two daughters from China, playing guitar at the church they attended in Bartlett, Tennessee, adopting kittens with the girls and family vacations to Disney World, where he braved roller coasters and teacup rides with the girls.

Tindle also volunteered several years at the St. Jude golf tournament in Memphis. His favorite music artist was Neal Morse, who wrote inspiring progressive and Christian rock that brought Tindle joy and comfort.

He is survived by his wife, Michele, and two daughters, Lara and Stephanie, all of Jackson; parents, Bill and Trudye Oliver of Paragould, Arkansas; and brother, Bill Oliver, also of Paragould.

Tindle was preceded in death by his nephew, Geoffrey Oliver.

To memorialize the life of Tindle, in lieu of a service and flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, SEMO Pets or Crohn's and Colitis Foundation.

Arrangements are by McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Online condolences may be sent to the family by clicking on the tribute wall of Tindle's personal obituary page at www.mccombsfuneralhome.com.
