Tina Marie Dohogne Nations, 58, of Chaffee, Missouri, passed away Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018, with her loving husband at her side.
She was born April 8, 1959, in Cape Girardeau to John Joseph and Marilyn Davis Dohogne. She and Wayne Nations married June 2, 2012, and he survives of the home.
Tina was the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and Volunteer Intergenerational Center (VIC) director for Aging Matter. Inspired to promote volunteerism, she successfully recruited and maintained a program of more than 1,000 volunteers who assisted not-for-profit agencies in Scott and Cape Girardeau counties. President Barack Obama recognized Tina in his "100-day Speech" in 2009 for her outstanding development of volunteer opportunities for seniors in Missouri. Tina was the only RSVP director recognized for this achievement. She was also named an "Every Day Hero" by KFVS Television. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee. She was a member of the Daughters of St. Ambrose.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Cliff (Jen) Barlow of Cape Girardeau; two grandchildren, Sophia and Tucker Barlow of Cape Girardeau; her father and mother, John and Marilyn Dohogne of Chaffee; two brothers, Kenneth (Kim) Dohogne of Delta and John K. (Paula) Dohogne of Oran, Missouri; and two sisters, Karen (Ray) Gramlisch of Festus, Missouri, and Marsha (Mike) Morgan of Cape Girardeau.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Debbie Landeros.
There will be a celebration of life to be determined at a later date.
There will be a private family visitation at 9:20 a.m. with parish rosary at 9:45 a.m. Thursday at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop and the Rev. David Dohogne as concelebrants officiating. Burial will be at Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery in Oran.
