Thurman Ray Scott, 73, of 1726 Huntington Drive, died Saturday, June 5, 1993, at his residence. He was born Jan. 11, 1920, at Ridgeway, Mo., son of Hugh V. and Maude Snelling Scott. He was married to Edra M. Clinton in 1948, at Flat River, Mo. Scott worked as a teacher for Missouri University Extension Agriculture Department at Farmington, Mo. He later worked at Cameron Mutual Insurance Co., where he retired in 1983...

Thurman Ray Scott, 73, of 1726 Huntington Drive, died Saturday, June 5, 1993, at his residence.

He was born Jan. 11, 1920, at Ridgeway, Mo., son of Hugh V. and Maude Snelling Scott.

He was married to Edra M. Clinton in 1948, at Flat River, Mo.

Scott worked as a teacher for Missouri University Extension Agriculture Department at Farmington, Mo. He later worked at Cameron Mutual Insurance Co., where he retired in 1983.

He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy.

Scott was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church where he had served on the Men's Club and the Administrative Board.

He was also a member and past Master of Excelsior Lodge 441 in Jackson, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, he was a member of the Moolah Shrine Temple of St. Louis and the Cape Girardeau Shrine Club where he was a Shrine Clown.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Larry C. Kelley of Leopold, Mo.; a daughter, Donna Rae Magnuson of Virginia Beach, Va.; a brother, Rex E. Scott of Benson, Ariz.; four sisters, Mildred Gilbert of Kansas City, Mo., Farrah Scott of Kansas City, Mo., Roselyn McLain of Broken Arrow, Okla., Marilyn Westlake of Hatfield, Mo.; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today at the Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 Tuesday at the Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel, with the Rev. Ernest Swartz officiating.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park cemetery.
