SIKESTON, Mo. -- Thurman Phillip Dambach, 83, was called out of this vale of tears Wednesday evening, Nov. 4, 2015, while at home. Born on June 23, 1932, at Oak Ridge, he was the son of Phillip William and Cora Susan Lowes Dambach. He was born again in the washing of holy baptism Dec. 19, 1948, at Zion Lutheran Church of Crosstown, Missouri, pastor A.M. Bruss officiating. At that time, he also was admitted to the Sacrament of Holy Communion through the Rite of Confirmation...

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Thurman Phillip Dambach, 83, was called out of this vale of tears Wednesday evening, Nov. 4, 2015, while at home.

Born on June 23, 1932, at Oak Ridge, he was the son of Phillip William and Cora Susan Lowes Dambach. He was born again in the washing of holy baptism Dec. 19, 1948, at Zion Lutheran Church of Crosstown, Missouri, pastor A.M. Bruss officiating. At that time, he also was admitted to the Sacrament of Holy Communion through the Rite of Confirmation.

The Lord led him together in Christian marriage to Verna Lydia Schuessler on Jan. 21, 1961, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville, Missouri, pastor E. G. Meseke officiating.

Dambach was a truck driver and a full-time farmer. He dearly loved farming and the raising of livestock. He belonged to Concordia Lutheran Church of Sikeston, and to the Farm Bureau of Benton, Missouri.

He is survived by his wife, Verna Lydia Schuessler of the home; a son, Jerry Paul Dambach, and his wife, Lorie, of Benton; a daughter, Jeanell Cora Hotop, and her husband, Scott Hotop, of Perryville; six grandchildren, Joshua, Christopher and Brandon Dambach and Jared, Justin and Maci Hotop; and three foster great-grandchildren.

After a time of failing health, the Lord in His wisdom called Thurman from this life at approximately 9 p.m. Nov. 4, 2015.

There will be a prayer service at 4:30 p.m. today, followed by visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.

The funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Concordia Lutheran Church in Sikeston. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Perryville.
