BLOOMFIELD -- Thomas Samuel Higdon, 71, of Bloomfield, died Monday, March 22, 1993, at Dexter Memorial Hospital.
He was born Jan. 9, 1992, in Parkin, Ark., son of Albert R. and Ollie Odell Crick Higdon. He and Jan Vines were married May 10, 1941, at Matthews.
Higdon was a retired bus driver with Dexter and Bloomfield School Districts. He was a member of St. Joe General Baptist Church of Idalia, where he had served as deacon. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Shari Stickles of Dexter; his mother of Saulsbury, Tenn.; two brothers, James Higdon of San Antonio, Texas, Robert Higdon of Saulsbury; three sisters, Walterine Gilloiti of Seatte, Wash., Frances Lehmann of Kerrville, Texas, Marie Marcellan of Corpus Christi, Texas, and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter and brother.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. The Rev. Dan Sitze will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
