Thomas Irl Moore, 83, of Ballwin, Mo., died Saturday, April 3, 2004, at the home of his son in Kansas City, Kan.

He was born Aug. 9, 1920, at Kennett, Mo., son of Buster H. and Pearl Ivy Merideth Moore. He and Ruby Kiehne were married July 28, 1946, in Sikeston, Mo.

Mr. Moore attended Southeast Missouri State University. He was a life member of National Education Association and Missouri State Teachers Association.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Bob (Linda) Moore of Kansas City, Kan.; and two grandchildren, Matthew and Meaghan Moore of Kansas City, Kan.

He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

There is no visitation.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cape County Memorial Park. The Rev. Barry Pfanstiel will officiate.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
