Thomas Dale Martin, 55, of St. Louis passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Crystal City, Mo.

He was born June 20, 1954, in Cape Girardeau, son of the late Jack and Lorraine Creamer Martin. He and Kim Smith were married in November 1976.

Tom was a 1972 graduate of Jackson High School and was salutatorian of his class. He graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in May 1976.

He was a licensed CPA in the states of Illinois and Missouri. He worked as an accountant for American Lending Group in St. Peters, Mo.

Tom was an avid singer and music lover. He was a member of The Gateway Men's Chorus and The Show Me Bears Club in St. Louis. Tom belonged to New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson and was a former director of the Chancel Choir.

Loving survivors include a daughter, Aurora Martin of Cape Girardeau; a son, Maxwell Martin of Jackson; a brother, Jack (Mary Anne) Martin of Jackson; and Kim Martin of Jackson, mother of the children.

Tom was a gentle, sweet and loving father, brother, uncle and cousin. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Rice officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or New McKendree United Methodist Church Music.
