Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Cotner, 75, died Wednesday, July 8, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born April 10, 1917, in the New Bethel community north of Cape Girardeau, son of James and Prudence McClard Cotner. He and Mary Austin were married July 2, 1942, in Cape Girardeau.

Cotner was a self-employed contractor and builder. He was a partner in the singing duo of Tom and Lee the Pioneer Pals. They sang 45 years in the area, on radio and television.

He was a member of Red Star Baptist Church, where he had been a musician and former youth basketball coach. He was a member of St. Mark Masonic Lodge and Order of Eastern Star. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sondra Cook of Littleton, Colo.; his mother, Prudence McMullin of Cape Girardeau; four brothers, Virgil and Harvey Cotner of Cape Girardeau, Earl Cotner of Scott City, Jim Cotner of St. Charles; four sisters, Evelyn Snyder, Boots Loucks, Margaret Wilson, Mary Sanders, all of Cape Girardeau, and three grandchildren.
