Thomas Bosco Knaup, 53, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2023, at Riverview At The Park in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri.
He was born Sept. 5, 1970, in Cape Girardeau to Richard Joseph and Carla Jo Whitehead Knaup.
He went to St. Mary Grade School and Notre Dame High School. He graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a bachelor's degree in mass communication, where he was also a charter member of Sigma Nu.
He was a member of St. Mary Cathedral in Cape Girardeau and Knights of Columbus Council No. 1111. Thomas was a very caring individual who never met a stranger.
He was a St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and St. Louis Blues hockey fan.
Survivors include two brothers, Richard J. (Charlotte) Knaup Jr. of Jackson and James W. (Debra) Knaup of Jefferson City, Missouri; four sisters, Marla G. (Harold) Kunz of Kirkwood, Missouri, Karen E. Rife of Florissant, Missouri, Kathryn J. (Donald) Borgmann of Cape Girardeau and Lucy C. (Kenneth) DeVaughn of St. Louis; and brother-in-law, Steven "Oscar" Gardiner of Jackson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and -nephews and extended Knaup, Whitehead and Taylor families.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Lynn Gardiner.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., with Sigma Nu ceremony at 6 p.m. and Parish Prayers at 7 p.m., followed by Knights of Columbus Council 1111 rosary, Friday, Nov. 3, at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at St. Mary Cathedral in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Allan Saunders officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Cape Girardeau at a later date.
