EAST PRAIRIE -- Thomas J. Eledge, 82, of East Prairie died Wednesday, July 21, 1999, at the East Prairie Nursing Center after an extended illness.
He was born Nov. 3, 1916, in Phillipy, Tenn., son of Paul Eledge and Mable Haley Eledge Cooper.
He had lived in Mississippi County most of his life and was a retired farmer. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Air Force with the medical attachment.
He is survived by three sons, Thomas Wayne Eledge of East Prairie, Melvin Paul Eledge of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Timothy Scott Eledge of Wyatt; a daughter, Lisa Treene McCord of Arlington, Ky.; a sister, Martha Zollner of Sparta, Ill.; a half sister, Katherine Hampton of East Prairie; and seven grandchildren.
His parents preceded him in death.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Shelby Chapel with Brother David Dowdy officiating.
Burial will be at the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
