THOMAS HAPGOOD

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Funeral with military honors for Thomas P. Hapgood of Holts Summit will be held at 11 a.m. today at Houser-Millard Funeral Home in Holts Summit. The Rev. Don Deeken will officiate.

Hapgood, 40, died Friday, June 23, 2000, near Perryville, from injuries received in an automobile accident.

He was born Dec. 26, 1959, at Perryville, son of Preston and Mary Hebruck Hapgood. He and Gisela U. Meyer were married Nov. 11, 1987, in Nuernberg, Germany.

Hapgood was employed with the Department of Public Safety as a security officer for the Ike Skelton Training Site. He was a member of the American Legion.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1980-92, and had been a member of Missouri National Guard since 1995.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Whitney and Shannon Hapgood of the home; three brothers, Mike Hapgood of Alton, Ill., Bill and John Hapgood of Perryville; five sisters, Mary Blackard and Lillian Hughes of Alton, Agnes Roberts and Peggy Lefler of Perryville, and Sue Vest of Helper, Utah.
