Thomas "Tom" F. Griffaw, 85, departed his earthly life Wednesday, April 3, 2024.
Tom was born July 25, 1938, in Cape Girardeau. He was born the fourth son and sixth child to Charles and Jewel Martin Griffaw.
He served in the U.S. Army, spending time in Germany during the Cold War. Most of his working life was spent with heavy equipment sales and service.
Tom leaves to cherish his memory one son, Bryan (Julie) Griffaw of Indianapolis; daughter, Jackie Shehan of Baltimore; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Don (Judy) Griffaw; sister, Mary (the late Jerry) Ainsworth of Cape Girardeau; multiple nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters and one grandson
A very special thanks goes to his nephew, Doug Norris, who helped care for him the last few years of his life.
The family would like to give special thanks to Ratliff Care Center and the Mercy Hospice nurses and staff for treating him, as well as his family, with much love and respect.
Per Tom's wishes, there will be no visitation. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
