SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- Thomas David Buttrey, 65, of Scott City died Friday, July 14, 2000, at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield, Mo.
He was born June 11, 1935, at Illmo, Mo., son of John and Beatrice Jenkins Buttrey. He and Betty Hopkins were married May 4, 1957, in Kelso, Mo. He had served in the U.S. Army.
He had worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Cape Girardeau for 33 years as a distribution clerk. He was affiliated with St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a member of the American Postal Workers Union. He was an Associate of the Precious Blood and Minister of the Eucharist at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, David Buttrey of Sedro Wooley, Wash., John Buttrey of Cape Girardeau, Matthew Buttrey of Scott City and Richard Buttrey of Council Grove, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Parish prayers will be held at 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Rev. David Coon officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Scott City.
