Funeral for Therman "Doc" Schwach of Eastpointe, Mich., was held Monday at Arthur J. VanLerberghe Funeral Home in St. Clair Shores, Mich. Burial was in Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Mich.
Schwach, 89, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, at his home.
He was born Aug. 29, 1912, in Cape Girardeau, son of Herman and Olivia Miller Schwach. He married the former Lydia Pfeiffer, who preceded him in death.
Schwach was a retired tool and die troubleshooter for Chrysler-Mack Stamping plant. He operated Doc's Furniture and Antiques and Doc's Recycling and Pallets. He had also been a farmer and livestock dealer.
Survivors include four daughters, Carole Suchey and Jean Griener of Clinton Township, Carolyn Nance of Oxford, Mich., Susanne Schwach of Eastpointe; a son, Clayton Schwach of Clinton Township; three brothers, Ray and Glenn Schwach of California, Clyde Schwach of Billings, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son and a brother.
