PERRYVILLE -- Funeral service for Theophil O. Roth of Perryville will be held at 1 p.m. today at Concordia Lutheran Church in Frohna. The Rev. Luther Herman will officiate, with burial in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery at Wittenberg.

Young and Sons East Perry Chapel in Altenburg is in charge of arrangements.

Roth, 85 years old, died Monday, Dec. 17, 1990, at Perry County Hospital.

He was born Oct. 23, 1905, in Wittenberg, son of Christian and Agnes Schuessler Roth. He and the former Esther Bodenschatz were married Aug. 16, 1931. She died May 30, 1982.

Roth was a retired farmer.

Survivors include two sons, Nelson Roth of Frohna, Eugene Roth of St. Louis, and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by six brothers, two sisters and two grandchildren.
