SCOTT CITY -- Theon L. Schaefer Jr., 50, of Scott City, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1993, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. SCOTT CITY -- Theon L. Schaefer Jr., 50, of Scott City, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1993, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born March 28, 1943, at Cape Girardeau, son of Theon Frank and Marie Bertha Schoen Schaefer.

Schaefer worked as a heavy equipment operator for West Lake Quarry in Scott City.

He was a member of the Teamsters Local 574 of Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include his parents; three brothers, Vernon Schaefer and Mike Schaefer, both of Scott City, Gilbert Schaefer of Holts Summit, Mo.; and four sisters, Dorene Hamm, Pat Blankenship and Mary Fowler, all of Scott City, Sharon Hammontree of Neosho, Mo.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City, with the Rev. William Dickey officiating.

Burial will follow in the Lightner Memorial Cemetery in Scott City.
