SIKESTON, Mo. -- Theon J. Compas, 85, of Sikeston died Friday, March 7, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born April 3, 1917, at Kelso, Mo., son of Joseph and Anna Bollinger Compas. He and Mary Frances Hill married in 1939. He and Loreda Condley were married Aug. 29, 1980, in New Madrid, Mo.

Compas was owner and operator of Compas Alignment in Sikeston for 45 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of Murray Lane Baptist Church and the American Legion Henry Meldrum Post 114 in Sikeston.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Theon F. Compas of Sikeston, Richard Compas of Bonne Terre, Mo., and Roger Compas of Battle Creek, Mich.; two stepsons, Dan and Tom Jennings, both of Sikeston; a stepdaughter, Sue Guess of Sikeston; three sisters, Edith Schott of Detroit, Mich., Naomi Lauck of Chaffee, Mo., and Alma Turpin of Houston, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Murray Lane Baptist Church, with the Rev. Kelley Grubbs officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
