Theodore O. (Ted) Suedekum, 91, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Feb. 23, 1998, at the Lutheran Home.

He was born January 20, 1907, in rural Cape Girardeau County, son of William, Sr. and Anna Witzel Suedekum. He and Ernestine Eggimann were married June 5, 1929 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.

He was a lifelong member and former trustee of Zion Lutheran Church south of Gordonville.

Since retiring from dairy farming, Suedekum was involved in woodcrafts and was a former member of the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri for more than fifteen years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Marjorie Suedekum and Shirley (Mrs. Stan) Popp both of Cape Girardeau; two granddaughters, Tammy (Mrs. Jerry) Jasiek of St. Louis and Lisa (Mrs. John) Johnston of Cape Girardeau; two great grandchildren, Madison Johnston of Cape Girardeau and Alex Jasiek of St. Louis and a niece, Betty (Suedekum) Smith of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Wayne Schwiesow officiating. Friends may call from 12 noon until time of service. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
