CHARLESTON -- Theoda Kirkwood, 65, of Charleston, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 1992, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, following a brief illness.
He was born Sept. 8, 1926, at Harmondale, son of Kato and Sarah Fergerson Kirkwood. He and Ora Lee Coleman were married in 1945.
Kirkwood was a farmer.
Survivors include his wife; seven sons, Artie and Jerome Kirkwood of Charleston, Douglas and Richard Kirkwood of Kansas City, Kan., Edgar, Michael and Theoda Kirkwood Jr. of Bloomington, Ill.; six daughters, Alice Ewing, Shirley Haynes and Lori Kirkwood of Charleston, Pansey Randle of Kansas City, Kan., Yvonne and Linda Kirkwood of Evanston, Ill.; two sisters, Sarah Howard of Mounds, Ill., Thressa Frazier of Charleston; four brothers, Robert Kirkwood of Bloomington, Ernest Kirkwood of Peoria, Ill., Ellis Kirkwood of Washington, D.C., Thurman Kirkwood of Desert Hot Springs, Calif.; 25 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Matthew's Baptist Church, with the Rev. T.R. Tyus officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at Sparks Funeral Home from 7-8 p.m. Friday.
