MINER -- Funeral for Thelma Mae Young of Miner will be held at 2 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. The Rev. Kelley Grubbs will officiate. Burial will be in New Morley Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until service time.
Young, 93, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999, at Miner Nursing Center.
She was born May 11, 1906, at Morley, daughter of William Arthur and Mary Melissa Capps Beggs Sr. She and Clyde Young were married Oct. 13, 1928, at Benton. He died April 20, 1973.
Young was a member of Blodgett Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Lois Callow and Wilma Dye of Sikeston, Shirley Taylor of Charleston; two sisters, Mary Hopper of Benton, Dorothy Ervin of Jackson; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, eight brothers, a sister, and a granddaughter.
