CHESTER, Ill. -- Thelma Irene Wilfong, 73, of Chester died Monday, April 26, 1999, at St. Ann's Healthcare Center in Chester.

She was born Feb. 23, 1926, in Pemiscot County, daughter of Thomas Oscar and Mattie Evalina Sanford Majors.

Wilfong was formerly of Perryville, Mo. She had been a factory worker.

Survivors include a son, Johnnie Wilfong of St. Louis; a daughter, Deborah Wilfong of Chester; and a granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, four brothers, and a grandchild.

Friends may call at Schroeder-McClure Funeral Chapel in Chester from 4:30-8 p.m. today, and Saturday after 8:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Perryville.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. The Rev. Larry Cole will officiate. Burial will be in Crossroads Cemetery in Bollinger County, Mo.
