WHITEWATER -- Thelma Stroder, 71, of Whitewater, died Monday, Aug. 31, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born March 14, 1921, at Whitewater, daughter of Kirby and Ursa Dell Mollenhour Strong. She and Gene Stroder were married July 29, 1935.
Stroder had worked at International Shoe Co. in Jackson and Cape Girardeau. She was a member of Whitewater United Methodist Church, former member of Star Homemakers Club, and former 4-H club sponsor at Crump.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Dan Stroder of Whitewater, Jerry Stroder of Cedar Hill; a daughter, Shirley Young of Webster Groves; a sister, Wilma Tohill of Jackson; nine grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson and sister.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at McCombs Funeral Chapel in Jackson. The Rev. Wayne Johnson and Willis Smith will officiate, with burial in Barks Chapel Cemetery at Crump.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
