Funeral service for Thelma Stovall, formerly of Crump, will be held at 1 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Chapel in Cape Girardeau. The Revs. J.D. Smith and Charles Bowser will officiate, with burial in McGuire Cemetery near Burfordville.

Stovall, 83, died Monday, April 8, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born May 17, 1912, in Madison County, Ill., daughter of Elmer and Stella Turnbull Greenlee. She married Lender Stovall June 4, 1930. He preceded her in death.

Stovall moved to Crump in 1941 from Granite City, Ill. She had resided at the Lutheran Home the past five years.

She was a charter member of Crump Assembly of God Church, member of its women's ministry, served as church secretary-treasurer, custodian, superintendent and adult teacher of the Sunday School.

Stovall had worked at the old International Shoe Co. in Cape Girardeau, Jackson and Chaffee, and had worked as a domestic housekeeper in Jackson.

She is survived by three sons, Jerry Stovall of Crump, Glenn Stovall of Fenton, Earl Gene Stovall of Cape Girardeau; four daughters, Betty Ford and Donna Kay Eakins , both of Cape Girardeau, Della McLain of Jackson, and Mary Ann Smith of Advance; a brother, Harold Greenlee of Lompoc, Calif.; a sister, Pearl Forguson of Granite City; 24 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by six brothers, four sisters, two grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
