Thelma "Cricket" McDaniel, 80, of Delta died Sunday, March 23, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Feb. 3, 1928, at Randles, daughter of Charles Ray¿mond and Rosa Ann Clon¿inger Simmons. She and Harold Lloyd McDaniel were married Nov. 14, 1945. He preceded her in death June 17, 2000.

Thelma was a member of Perkins Baptist Church and Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include two daughters, Beverly (Dickie) Hefner of Delta, Vickey (Phil) Vandeven of Glennon, Mo.; a special daughter-in-law, Mary "Aggie" (Wayne) Chapman of Delta; two sisters, Ora Lawrence of Boise, Idaho, Velma Lawrence of Gooding, Idaho; eight grandchildren, Carla (Jim) Perry of Delta, Suzanne Cope of Glennon, Richard (Staci) Hefner of Patton, Mo., Jason (Angie) McDaniel of Whitewater, Justin (Amanda) Vandeven of Jackson, Amanda (Aaron) Altenthal and Regina Hefner of Delta, Daniel (Jessica) Vandeven of McGee, Mo.; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Lloyd "Curt" McDaniel; three brothers and a sister.

Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Mo., and Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to service time at Perkins Baptist Church.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Rick Crump officiating. Burial will be in Williams Cemetery at Perkins, Mo.
