Thelma Lee Hampton, 68, Cape Girardeau, formerly of Sikeston, died Friday, July 21, 1995, at Southeast Hospital.
She was born Jan. 29, 1927, in Randles, the daughter of Howard and Sylvia McFerron.
She was a salesperson for Hecht's in Cape Girardeau since 1990. She previously worked as head of the women's department for Homestead Distributing Co. in Sikeston from 1966 to 1987.
She served as treasurer of the Sikeston Women's Bowling Association and was a member of the Sikeston Eagles Ladies Auxiliary.
She married Bruce W. Hampton May 13, 1947, in Advance.
She is survived by her mother, Sylvia McFerron; three sons, Steve Hampton of Sikeston, Michael Hampton of Jacksonville, Fla., and George Hampton of St. Louis; a daughter, Candy Lee Hurt of Cape Girardeau; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. The body will be moved to the Ford and Sons Funeral Home on Mount Auburn Road in Cape Girardeau where visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel. Burial will follow in the Cape Girardeau Memorial Cemetery.
