THELMA HORTON

BERNIE, Mo. -- Thelma Horton, 77, of Bernie died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Dexter Memorial Hospital in Dexter, Mo.

She was born June 28, 1923, at Bernie, daughter of Francis Marion and Lula Beatrice Lance Rice. She and Chester "Sonny" Horton were married Nov. 3, 1960, at Chaffee, Mo.

Horton was a cosmetologist and owned and operated Thelma's Beauty Shop many years. She was a member of Bernie Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Jerry "Butch" Kaufman of Saline, Mich.; two daughters, Pamela Sparks of Jackson, Mo., Carol LaRue of Huntingburg, Ind.; a brother, Delmer Rice of Dexter; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call at Rainey Funeral Home in Bernie from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Stan Dauck officiating. Burial will be in Bernie Cemetery.
