DEXTER -- Thelma Grindstaff, 67, of Dexter died Thursday, April 30, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born March 21, 1925 in Berryville, Va., daughter of Earl and Virginia Kennon Lichliter.
She had been a resident of Route 3 Dexter the past 12 years and was serving as vice-chairman of the Stoddard County Republican Party. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 311 at Dexter and a member of the United Methodist Church at Dexter. She is a former employee of the Internal Revenue Service at Detroit, Mich.
On Sept. 30, 1984, she married Lloyd Grindstaff. He survives.
She is also survived by three sons, Robert Eoff, Beavertown, Ore., Garner Eoff, Dexter, Richard Eoff, Cincinnati, Ohio; one daughter, Marcia Walker of College Station, Texas; one stepson, James Grindstaff, Little Rock, Ark.; one sister, Virginia Mansfield, Ypsilanti, Mich.; one half-sister, Susan Olson, Exeter, R.I.; 11 grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield after 5 p.m. today. An Eastern Star service will be conducted at 7 p.m. by the Dexter Chapter 311.
Funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Bethany Cemetery near Campbell.
