KARNAK, Ill. -- The Rev. Vernon McClellan, 81, of Karnak died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 1996, at the Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Ky.
He was born Sept. 9, 1915, in Karnak to George and Clara Davidson McClellan.
McClellan had been the pastor of the Karnak Pentecostal Church for 32 years and for six years at the Tamms Pentecostal Church.
He was a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Houseright McClellan of Karnak; a son, Sherman McClellan of Baytown, Texas; three brothers, Lawrence McClellan of Golconda, Louis McClellan of Grand Chain and Carl McClellan of Karnak; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Visitation will be tonight from 5 to 9 at the Karnak Pentecostal Church.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church, with the Revs. Joey Hight and Kenneth Capps officiating. Burial will be at the Masonic Cemetery at Cypress.
