CAMP VERDE, Ariz. -- The Rev. Lee Cook, age 90, formerly of Gravel Hill, Mo., passed away Saturday, May 17, 2008, at his home in Camp Verde. He was born Nov. 20, 1917, in Sedgewickville, Mo., son of Robert and Mary Hanners Cook. He and Delphine Jenkins were married Nov. 23, 1939...

CAMP VERDE, Ariz. — The Rev. Lee Cook, age 90, formerly of Gravel Hill, Mo., passed away Saturday, May 17, 2008, at his home in Camp Verde.

He was born Nov. 20, 1917, in Sedgewickville, Mo., son of Robert and Mary Hanners Cook. He and Delphine Jenkins were married Nov. 23, 1939.

Cook previously pastored at Marquand Baptist Church, Bernie Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Oak Ridge. He moved to Phoenix, where he pastored at Westcroft Baptist Church and retired from Grand Canyon University in 1982 after 10 years of employment.

Loving survivors include two sons, Paul and David Cook of Camp Verde; two brothers, Truman Cook of Phoenix and Kenneth Cook of Burfordville, Mo.; a sister, Betty Upchurch of Marble Hill, Mo.; three granddaughters, Merandie Parker, Sharon Boulters and Paulette Boughner; five great-grandchildren, Victoria, David and Cassie Boulters, Bailey and Makenna Parker.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife and an infant son, Tony.

A memorial service was held Saturday, May 24, in Camp Verde.
