KELSO, Mo. -- Terry John Weissmueller, son of the late John Weissmueller and Martha Elfrink Weissmueller was born on Oct. 16, 1950, in Cape Girardeau and departed his life peacefully in his home on Monday, July 18, 2022, after a battle with cancer at the age of 71 years.
On May 3, 1985, he was united in marriage to Nancy LeGrand in Cape Girardeau. She survives of the home in Kelso.
He served six years in the Army National Guard as a Specialist Fifth Classman and wheeled vehicle repairman. After 25 years in the automobile parts industry, Terry began his own successful plumbing and excavating business. Terry was a member of the St. Augustine Catholic Parish.
Besides his wife, survivors include five daughters, Andrea (Jeremy) Burford of Cape Girardeau, Sarah (B.J.) Bruenderman of Scott City, Laura (Scott) Edmundson of St. Louis, Alana Weissmueller of Laguna Hills, California and Leah (Austin) Uhrhan of Kelso; one brother, Bill (Doris) Weissmueller; four sisters, Judith (Don Eaton) Elfrink-Weissmueller, Ella Weissmueller, Germaine (Tim) Cannon, and Carol (Karl) Grubbe; also by 11 grandchildren, Cora and Loren Burford, Destiny and Bryce Bruenderman, Isabella, Logan and Aurora Edmundson, Lillian Becquette, Ava and Adalyn Weissmueller, and Caleb Uhrhan.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday with a prayer service at 6 p.m. at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
Eucharistic Celebration will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso. Interment will follow in the St. Augustine Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Augustine Parish.
