Terry Lee Godwin, 72, of Jackson passed away Saturday, Dec. 25, 2021, peacefully at his home after a battle with cancer.
He was born Sept. 12, 1949, in Cape Girardeau, the son of John E. and Lillian Probst Godwin.
Terry was a graduate of Jackson Senior High School. He entered the U.S. Air Force on Oct. 12, 1967, and was honorably discharged June 11, 1971, after attaining the rank of sergeant. Terry owned and operated G and K Drywall Co. in Jackson for many years. He was an avid golfer and was an extremely nice person who was loved by all who knew him.
He is survived by his significant other of over 30 years, Janet McGhee; four stepchildren, 10 stepgrandchildren; 15 great-stepgrandchildren; a sister, Brenda (Melvin) Holder; and a niece, Heather.

In keeping with Terry's wishes, there will be no service.
Burial, with full military honors, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Arrangements were by McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
