THEBES, Ill. -- Terry D. "Hippie" Calvert, 56, of West Frankfort, Ill., formerly of Thebes, died Monday, Dec. 26, 2005, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, Ill.
He was born Nov. 25, 1949, in Cairo, Ill., son of Kenneth Dee "Buttons" and Mary Clutts Calvert.
Calvert worked in coal mines, and last worked for Consolidated Coal Co., Rend Lake Mine.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and received the Bronze Star and Accommodation Medal.
Survivors include a daughter, Ashley Duke of Valier, Ill.; his companion, Vickie Wilson of West Frankfort; her three sons, Brandon, Kenny and Tyler Wilson, all of Mulkeytown, Ill.; a brother, Kenneth Calvert of Metropolis, Ill.; a half brother, Mike Calvert of Royalton, Ill.; three sisters, Sherri Marlow of Waterloo, Ill., Sharon Ruff of Bellingham, Wash., Angela Richard of Christopher, Ill.; and seven grandchildren.
Friends may call at Vantrease Funeral Home in Royalton from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mulkeytown Cemetery.
