Terry Jean Bollinger, 67, of Jackson gained her angel wings Thursday, Dec. 17, 2020, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was surrounded by her daughters and husband of 47 years.

She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, nana, aunt and friend. She was cared for by Saint Francis Medical Center's amazing medical team of hero's in the COVID ICU the last two weeks of her life.

She was born Nov. 25, 1953, in Bells, Tennessee, and was the daughter of Russell Simms and Kathryn Daniels. She and her high school sweetheart, Tom Bollinger were married July 14, 1973, in Benton, Missouri. They enjoyed going on camping trips and family beach vacations. Their grandkids were her pride and joy.

She loved her family fiercely and left a legacy of unconditional love. She never met a stranger and was always quick to help anyone who needed it. She spent her entire nursing career caring for her patients with compassion, while teaching others to do the same. Those who knew her, loved her instantly. It was easy to fall in love with her contagious laugh, quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. Her big hugs and beautiful smile will be greatly missed! She was the matriarch of the family who loved to get everyone together for celebrations. Christmas was her favorite holiday and this year she is spending it with Jesus.
