JACKSON -- Ted Ravenstein, 83, of Jackson, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 7, 1909, in Bellmont, Ill., son of John and Daisy Stilwell Ravenstein. He and Anna Lee Foster were married July 7, 1947, in Pocahontas, Ark.

Ravenstein had been a self-employed business owner and handyman. He was a member of Maple Avenue United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau, IOOF, Victory Encampment, American Legion and Disabled American Veterans, and was past grand monarch of Ancient Order of Samaritan. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a son, John Ravenstein of St. Louis; a daughter, Patsy Kimbrell of Cape Girardeau; his mother, Daisy Hobbs of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Catherine Tricky of Carlyle, Ill., Daisy Buron of Rolla, Virginia Loveless of Decula, Ga.; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel.

Graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Foster Cemetery in Maynard, Ark., with Ermert Funeral Home of Corning, Ark., in charge of arrangements.
