ADVANCE, Mo. -- William "Ted" Rainey, 80, of Advance died Wednesday, May 22, 2002, at his home.
He was born Aug. 8, 1921, in Advance, son of Charles and Lula Raver Rainey. He and Bernice Murphy were married July 1, 1944, in Greene County, Ark.
Rainey was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, William Rainey of Cape Girardeau, Harold Rainey of Auxvasse, Mo., James Rainey of Glen Allen, Mo., Dennis Rainey of Kennett, Mo.; three daughters, Dorothy Lewis of Sikeston, Mo., Brenda Boyer of Advance, and Kathy Meesakul of Cocoa Beach, Fla.
Also surviving are two brothers, Lowell Rainey of state of Georgia, Willard Rainey of Advance; a sister, Francis Sobba of Auxvasse; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dale Huff officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park.
