GOREVILLE, Ill. -- Funeral for Ted Farris of Goreville will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Whitnel Funeral Home. The Rev. Ron Ferguson will officiate, with burial in Busby Chapel Cemetery.

Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms from 5-8 p.m. today, and also at Whitnel Funeral Home Sunday from 5-9 p.m. A Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Farris, 66, died on arrival Thursday, May 28, 1998, at Marion Memorial Hospital.

He was born Dec. 6, 1931, in Alexander County, son of Samuel and Dovie Denfip Farris. He and Elanor Stuart were married Oct. 29, 1950.

Farris worked 31 years at Southern Illinois Power Co-Op, retiring as shift foreman of operations. He had served on Goreville School Board and Goreville Town Board.

He was a member of Lake Milligan Baptist Church at Miller City, 32nd Degree Mason and member of Saline Lodge 339 AF&AM, and member and past worthy patron of Eastern Star Chapter 1009.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Debbie Farris of Goreville; two sons, Bob and Gary Farris of Goreville; a brother, Don Farris of Miller City; a sister, Betty Healey of Olive Branch; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son.
