KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Ta Mahathath, 86, of Kansas City died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007, at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City.
He was born Jan. 9, 1921, in Thakhek, Laos, son of Pheng and Sing Mahathath. He married Mack Mounsavenq.
Mahathath was a self-employed businessman.
Survivors include his wife of Laos; a son, Bounliem Mahathath of Perryville, Mo.; two daughters, Niem Mahathath of Laos, Moungkaoune Natharath of Sydney, Australia; two stepsons, Anosone Panyaxay of Spring-dale, Ark., Anousone Panyaxay of Kansas City, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Nouphone Schmidt of Denver; and 25 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, two brothers and two grandsons.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 6:30 to 9:50 a.m. Saturday at Miller Family Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Hank Grodecki officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
