ADVANCE, Mo. -- Sylvia Marie Cox Teets, 93, of St. Louis, formerly of Advance, departed this life Wednesday, July 13, 2005, in St. Louis.
She was born June 10, 1912, at Ardeola, Mo., daughter of Ira and Sallie Dalton Cox. Sylvia and Bryon Teets were united in marriage April 1, 1939, at Benton, Mo. He preceded her in death June 27, 1998.
Sylvia was a homemaker.
Survivors include six daughters, Viola Wright of Advance, Marie Jean Porter of Roseville, Mich., Iris Stigler of Royal Oak, Mich., Lois Tackett of Advance, Mary Chailland-Martin of St. Louis, Joyce Cato of Dexter, Mo.; 19 grandchildren, Holly Wilson, Randy Wright, John Wright, Dan Wright, Dale Wright, Kathy Jones, Larissa Hawkins, Mark Porter, Barbara Craik, Raymond Shillinger, Richard Shillinger, Monica Minor, David Tackett, Rosanna Metcalf, Sheila Mendoza, Melissa Turner, Kenneth Chailland, Felicia Burke and Bobbi Rampley.
Also 45 great-grandchildren, David, Nathan, Gabriel, Kenyon, Hunter, Carson, Britney, Lindsey, Chase, Megan, Christopher, Paxton, Kyle, Kristen, Tiffanie, Kelly, Wade, Andrew, Richard, Eric, Rebecca, Casey, David, Justin, Britney, Ryan, Christopher, Whitney, Alicia, Brooklyn, Savanna, Joanna, Cole, Marty, Jessica, Clay, Jim, Nicole, Ben, Hannah, David, Alexander, Steven, Eric and Abby; and two great-great-grandchildren, Austin and Seth.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Gloma Wilson; brothers and sisters, Carl, Mildred, Inez, Luther and Claude.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance. Burial will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery near Bell City, Mo.
