ORAN -- Sylvia Elaine McGranahan, 52, of Oran died Friday, March 8, 1996, as the result of an accident.
She was born Nov. 21, 1943, in Medina, Tenn., daughter of Martin Isaac and Otha Faye Gourley Walton.
McGranahan owned and operated the Oran Cafe from 1985 to 1990 and was a member of the Life Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church in Oran.
She married James McGranahan on Jan. 23, 1965.
She is survived by her husband; her father, of Huntingdon, Tenn.; a son, Rev. Aaron McGranahan of Oran; two daughters: Elaine McGranahan of Oran and Sandy Miles of Morley; two brothers: David Walton of Kankakee, Ill., and Tim Walton of Huntingdon, Tenn.; four sisters: Mildren James and Rebecca Burton, both of Lexington, Tenn., Betty Wilkes of Huntingdon, Tenn., and Joyce Walton of Simpson, Ill.; and one grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her mother and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Life Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church today after 3 p.m. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Gary Teague officiating, assisted by the Rev. Aaron McGranahan.
Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Morley.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.
